Location

Bodega Doña Elvira is situated on over 200 acres of our vineyards in the high altitude wine growing district of Vista Flores, Valle de Uco, Mendoza, one of Argentina's premium wine growing regions.

Uco Valley is located to the southwest of the city of Mendoza. The valley is bordered by the Andes Mountains and consists of the cultivated lands in Tunuyán, Tupungato and San Carlos. The area's altitude varies from 900 meters to over 1,200 meters above sea level; Our winery is at located at 1000 meters (3,300 feet) above sea level. .The region makes up almost 6% of the province of Mendoza's planted vineyards.

The region experiences cold winters and hot, dry summers. During the growing season, days are hot and nights are cool with temperature amplitude of 15° C. This variation allows for production of exceptional wines as the thermal range contributes to the wine's key characteristics including color and tannins and produces a structure in the wine suitable for aging.

The soil is shallow and provide exceptional drainage. Our vineyards are irrigated by pure mountain snow melt through a series of canals dating back to the vineyards founding.
